Integrity Polling

About

Polling has a trust problem. We built a firm around fixing the part we can.

Integrity Polling is an independent public opinion research firm, founded in 2026, that publishes every public poll with its complete methodology, verbatim question wording, downloadable crosstabs, every ballot-qualified candidate named, and a public grade after the election.

The trust crisis

How polling lost the public

Twenty-five years ago, roughly a third of the people a pollster called would pick up and finish the interview. Today the figure is in the single digits. Every poll now depends on a weighting model to stand in for the people who did not answer, and the people who did not answer are different from the people who did in ways that demographic weights do not capture.

The misses followed. By the industry’s own post-mortem, the national polls of 2020 were the least accurate in forty years. The error was analyzed and debated and then, for the most part, the same firms published the next cycle’s polls the same way, with no public accounting of how the last cycle’s had done.

Meanwhile the information a reader would need to judge a poll for themselves went missing. Question wording lives in a PDF, if anywhere. Crosstabs are available to subscribers. Weighting targets are proprietary. Response rates are not mentioned. And the fastest-growing bloc in American politics, the voters who say neither party represents them, appears in most horse-race polls only as “other” or “undecided.”

The result is a market in which a careful poll and a careless one look identical to the reader, and the reader has responded rationally: by trusting neither. In our own demonstration tracker battery, public opinion polls rank below the Supreme Court and barely above the news media.

What we can fix

We cannot raise response rates. Nobody can. What a polling firm can do is make every assumption it is forced to make visible, so that a reader, a journalist or a rival pollster can see where an error would come from if there is one. That is the whole idea. It is not a marketing position. It is the publication checklist, and a release that cannot meet it does not go out.

Mission

Make public opinion checkable

To measure what Americans think with methods anyone can inspect, to report it with every candidate and every uncertainty included, and to grade the result in public so that trust in the numbers is earned rather than asked for.

Values

What we optimize for

  • 01

    Transparency

If a number is published, everything needed to check it is published with it. Methodology, wording, weights, crosstabs, response rate. No exceptions, no request forms.

  • 02

    Independence

Public polls are funded by us. No candidate, party, committee or advocacy group pays for a public release, and commissioned work is never presented as public opinion.

  • 03

    Completeness

Every ballot-qualified candidate is named. Every subgroup we report shows its sample size. Every question we asked is listed, including the ones we did not write about.

  • 04

    Humility

A margin of error is a promise, and we check whether we kept it. Misses are published with the same prominence as hits, with a written post-mortem.

  • 05

    Usefulness

Data in files people can open. Charts with a table view. Plain-language write-ups that say what a result means and what it does not.

Funding and independence

Who pays for this

Public releases, including the Trust Tracker, are funded by the firm. We do not accept money from candidates, campaigns, parties or political committees for any poll we publish. We accept commissioned research from organizations that need it, under terms that prevent a private poll from ever being presented as public opinion. Commissioned clients are disclosed whenever their work is released, by them or by us.

If a reader, a journalist or another pollster believes a release falls short of the standard, the address is corrections@integritypolling.com. Substantive critiques are published with the release they concern.
